In my CPE 400 course Computer Communication Networks our final project was the creation of a network simulation. For my final project I created a simulation of a mesh network, this mesh network is faulty and has link and router failures at random. The existing routers must then find new paths and then propagate the new path. The routers use Dynamic Source Routing to keep a list of known paths. The project is written entirely in Python, all of the variables for the network are easily adjustable such as the number of routers average number of links per router, the failure rate of both nodes and links, and the simulation length.
